Hey Guys,

Some of you may have noticed two lonely trophies in the DCU trophy cases in the sports centre. They are in fact belonging to badminton and to make it this fact known I have got a wonderful photographer to take a big pic of the entire badminton club this monday, 17 Nov at 7pm.This picture will then be displayed along with the two trophies making them one big happy family. So get your asses down for Monday's training!!

Hey guys, ok, there is an AGM meeting on sometime on thurs, we'll let everyone know on mon/wens training sessions. At the AGM well be deciding on our new commitee members as well as telling ye all about what we got planned for the year ahead!

Now on to the more exciting stuff! We will have our FIRST OUTING of the year this THURSDAY the 16TH OCTOBER. Were thinking of Purty Kitchens, 3euro pints, 2euro shots, 2euro bottles...sounds like a good night to me! Well prob meet somewhere beforehand, at a nominated gaff or the old bar, these details have still to be decided. Just said I'd let ye know in advance to keep your thursday night free next week!

Were hoping all the new faces will come along so It'll give us as a chance to bond, wait let me rephrase the cheesiness that is...to all get to know each other a wee bit better and ultimately to have the craic. Hope to see ye all there!

so we will changing the committee now,

our treasurer for the last two years has stepped down and wants to give other people in the club a shot at this role in the club. it is a very important role as it controls the finances of the club.

so what this brief news is about, if there is anyone within dcu that wants to be on the committee there are several positions available FOR THE NEW YEAR 2008/2009

WE HAVE:

chairman (provisionally keith o sullivan)
secretary ( provisionally David Mc Cague)
Freshers Rep. (need a fresher for that, provisionally Andrew O Regan)
Treasurer ( provisionally Lena Sexton)
Two Ordinary members ( general members)

i myself will be stepping down from "active committee member" to just "figure head committee member" , but i will help until the new committee is formed.

so if you are interested in becoming a member and want to have your say in the club, then send me an email at dcubadminton@gmail.com for attention of the committee, nominating yourself for any of the above positions.

its a great thing to have on your CV, to say that you organised this, or u were treasurer of the club or the chairman of the club and dealt with this that and whatsoever!!!!!

so have a think about it and get on to us asap!!!!!!
